Do you truly know who you are, whose you are, or your spiritual DNA? Without this foundational understanding, reaching your full potential feels impossible. Discovering your identity is the game-changer you’ve been waiting for, directly influencing your words, actions, and ultimate destiny.

In this blogpost , I want to talk about how you can understand your identity. If you don’t
understand your identity ,whose you are, or your spiritual DNA ,it will be very hard for you
to become who you are meant to be or reach where you are supposed to go.
Understanding your identity is a game-changer. It is critical to your becoming because it
shapes how you speak to things and how you act. Who you are is very important to your
destiny. Some of us may think this statement is deep or philosophical, but it carries a
profound truth: who you are shapes who you become. You cannot live life in isolation
from your source.
When we talk about identity, we’re talking about: Your purpose, who you are, and the
things you are called to do. “Whose you are?” speaks to belonging. It refers to: Your
source of identity, Your source of relationship , Your source of faith and values, and the
authority or dominion you operate under. If you are a person of faith, you belong to God, and that gives you a defined purpose. You know your assignment, what you’re supposed to be doing. You live on purpose, not just drifting through life like everyone else. When you recognize whose you are, you
become aware of the foundation your life is built on. You’re not living for yourself.
Who you are refers to: Your personal identity,Your character, Your personality , Your
values, and choices. Your choices reflect the deeper truth of whose you are. A person
who knows they belong to a loving, almighty God lives with confidence because they
know their source. When you understand that God is your source, you walk in security.
Whatever you do, wherever you go, you know God is leading you. But many believers live
without consciousness of their identity.
Your identity is not formed in isolation, it is shaped by Your belief system and the
systems you’re connected to.
So let me ask you: Who are you connected to? Could that
be why things aren’t working for you?
Some of us have God, but we act like slaves. We are sons and daughters, yet we talk like
beggars. That’s why when many believers pray, they pray beggarly prayers. In Genesis,
God created man in His image and likeness meaning we are meant to reflect His
nature. He didn’t just create us; He gave us authority and said: “Dominate.” and
“Increase.” If you’re not increasing, if you’re not dominating your space, if people aren’t coming to
you for solutions, it means you’re not fully representing your Father. But you can change
that. When you know whose you are, you walk into any space and take authority.

In 2023, my husband and I were planning for the year, and he identified a mentor he
wanted to follow , a man who charged a high fee for coaching. At first, we hesitated,
thinking, “This is expensive.” But my husband decided: “Every time this man holds a
program in Lagos, I’ll be there.” He started attending and made sure to introduce himself
personally each time. Later, we attended a boot camp. One of the speakers asked us to help pick up some
guests from the airport. While driving, my husband felt led to pray in tongues intensely,
he didn’t know why, but he obeyed. Guess what? The person he picked up was the same
mentor he admired! They talked in the car, and the man said: “David, I feel in my spirit to bless you. From now on, any of my programs worldwide whether in Lagos, London, or Spain for free. My team will put you on scholarship.” Do you see what happened? Just by praying in the Spirit for 20 minutes, God connected
him to favor. That’s what it means for God to be tangible in your life. Your identity is not
your job title, it’s not your achievements nor the roles you play . Your true identity comes
from whose you are and that shapes your purpose and impact in the world. Once, while listening to a preacher, I went into a trance. I saw myself asking God for a small box of blessings, but instead, angels took me to a room filled with boxes of every size, overflowing. They said, “Elizabeth, why ask for so little when you can have all this? These are already yours!” That revelation changed me. Your God is bigger than you think.
How to Know Your Identity
There are four key phases to understanding and walking in your identity:
1 . Discerning
2. Discovery
3. Developing
4. Deploying
1 . DISCERNING
A lot of people say, “Discover your purpose!” Yes, you need to discover your purpose, but
you cannot discover any purpose without first discerning. When you’re working with
God, you must work with the spirit of discerning. You must be able to discern as a child
of God. You need spiritual sensitivity to discern because that is what leads to discovery.
You cannot truly discover what you don’t feel in your spirit that you should be doing.
Destiny Navigational Application (DNA)
Think of Destiny Navigational Application like a GPS system for your life’s journey. For
those who use GPS:
● It helps you reach your destination by providing direction.
● Sometimes, you reroute when necessary.
● Sometimes, you highlight key stops along the way.
It’s the same with understanding your DNA. When you understand your DNA, it helps you
navigate life better.
Internal GPS Signals
Your internal GPS signals include:
● Your passions
● Your natural inclinations (what comes easily to you)
● The burdens you consistently carry
Before you move forward into purpose, you must first recognize what pulls at your heart
and what naturally flows from you. That is the place of discerning. But it’s unfortunate
that some of us don’t discern it.
What to Do If This Sounds Like You
● Pay attention to repeated patterns in your interests.
● Pay attention to the compliments people give you about those repeated patterns.
● Journal your thoughts and those patterns.
● If it’s unclear, ask questions from the right people and get feedback.
You cannot ignore these things. Sometimes, what you’re looking for in somebody else’s
“shokoto” is inside your own “shokoto.”

2 . Discovery
In discovery, you may need to:
● Take personality and skill assessment tests
● Try new experiences
● Volunteer in different areas
If you must discover, do it.
But here’s another thing: Discovery alone is not enough.
3. Developing
Many people do not become who they are meant to be because they refuse to develop
the gift. Let me shock you (though you may already know this): God does not create
finished products He creates seeds. This is where many get it wrong. When you have
an idea of what you’re supposed to do, you stay there no training, no growth. You need
to develop your gift, your tools, your talent whatever you’ve discovered before it can
be appealing to the world. The world has standards. Sometimes, some of us feel we’re
not gifted but that’s not the problem. The problem is:
● You’ve left the seeds God gave you as seeds.
● You’ve left them undeveloped, uncultivated, unwatered.
That’s why you feel like you have nothing. But you have something. The issue is not that
you’re not gifted the issue is that you’re not watering what you have.
Here’s another thing you must pay attention to:
● You did nothing to receive the gift—it was given to you.
● But you must do everything to make it useful.
● You must do everything to make it attractive to the world.
So if you’re not doing anything to make your gift or your talent or your skills appealing to
the world, don’t complain that the world isn’t paying attention to you.
Am I saying God isn’t enough? Of course, God is enough but you have to:
● Develop your gift
● Polish it
● Make it sparkle
Many people stop at discovery because they think:
● “I’ve discovered my purpose—isn’t that enough to make me blow up?”
● “What I’ve discovered doesn’t seem big enough.”
● “I’m waiting for God to give me a full package.”
You’ll wait tired! Sometimes, we wait for God to “announce us,” but what you do while
waiting matters.
4 . Deploying
After development, it’s time to take action this is where you:
● Serve people
● Make an impact
How do you deploy your gift?
● Give service.
● Let people see what you can do.
When we started our school, we gave scholarships. People asked: “Why are you doing
this?”We said: “People need to know we’re good at this. If we don’t show them, how will
they know?” Nobody celebrates what they can’t see. The world needs to see it.
If you offer a service:
● Find someone influential who can announce you.
● Serve them for free.
It’s in service that your gift gets refined. God won’t carry you out of your house. You
must take steps to put yourself out there. Don’t let fear of failure stop you. You won’t be
celebrated from day one. If you try once and fail, don’t quit—go out again and again.
Success comes along the way. Start that business. Revamp that business. Write that
book.
One of my mentors once asked: “Elizabeth, you said you’re writing a book what’s
stopping you?” I said: “I keep refining it.” She replied: “There are over a thousand books on leadership
because nobody can write everything about it. Stop refining go and print! You can’t put
everything in one book.” Months later, two of my books came out at once. Yes, you’ll
make mistakes do it anyway!
● Register for that course.
● Apply for that grant (even if you’ve been rejected before).
● Start that podcast (even if you think your voice is “somehow”).
● Launch that blog (even if only 10 people like your posts).
Many people buy fake likes and shares but that’s not your identity. Just do it anyway.
Someone is watching. One of my mentors has posts with just 43–80 likes, yet she:
Mentors top leaders, is called “The Kingmaker.” and Charges millions for coaching. Likes
don’t define her and they shouldn’t define you.

Final Quote
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life he
has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours. He will pass an
invisible boundary; new laws will establish themselves around him. Old laws will be
expanded and interpreted in his favor. He will live with the license of a higher order of
beings.”
This means:
1 . Push forward unafraid success will meet you unexpectedly.
2. You’ll cross an invisible boundary (operating beyond natural limits).
3 .New laws (divine principles) will work for you.
4. Old laws (limitations) will break in your favor.
5. You’ll operate with heaven’s authority.
